Consumer prices take biggest drop in 4 years, thanks to gas prices
Thu May 16, 2013
These articles seem like they're always late, at least in regards to gas prices in my area. Three weeks ago, I paid $3.59/gallon and now it's jumped back up about 25 cents since then. I think articles like this are useless at this point.
How to protect a prepaid debit card
Wed May 15, 2013
As a cashier, let me just say that these cards can be a pain in the behind when someone wants to come in and make four or five transactions so they can take $500 off their card for whatever reason. My cash drawer is not your ATM; most of the time I don't have that kind of money in the drawer. When I …
6 ways retailers get out of price-matching guarantees
Wed May 15, 2013
I'm a cashier at one of my local Walmart superstores. Right in the Walmart ad, it says that Walmart will match any local competitor's printed ad but also that restrictions apply. So yes, Walmart is also one that won't match Costco because it's a paid membership store. Another exception that our part …
Girl Scout cookies are a sweet, sweet business
Tue Apr 30, 2013
The GS troops in my area aren't very active in selling cookies. I used to be a Girl Scout, and we were out selling every weekend during cookie time. It's a shame that some areas apparently don't do much. Either way, I learned a lot from being a Girl Scout and to me it's still a great organization.

Wed Apr 24, 2013
In reply to: John-327741 #16 Cash isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I'm a casier at a busy grocery store and at least half of the transactions I make are cash. Personally, I find cash to be more convenient and I use it most of the time.
iTunes is out of date and out of touch — so what's next?
Sun Apr 7, 2013
I still buy CD's because I can't afford to upgrade my car stereo to include an ipod connection and I hate those earbuds, always have.
Banks made $32 billion on overdraft fees last year
Fri Mar 29, 2013
In reply to: Devlin7 #9.1 I don't record my transactions at the register; there are other people waiting in line! I put my receipt in my wallet and the first thing I do when I get home is put it in my register. Whenever I get paid, I have all my savings, bills, and extra spending money planned out …
Coupon clipping declines as shoppers get savvier
Tue Mar 26, 2013
Lots of people try to use more coupons per day than they're supposed to. I got duped by one at my job. I'm a cashier. I keep an eye on sale
Where to find 'free' checking with no strings attached
Tue Mar 19, 2013
I've been using credit unions since I was 16. This is not news to me. I've always been happy with my credit unions.
Retail sales post largest gain in five months
Wed Mar 13, 2013
People who got their tax refunds spent it, and they bought lots of clothes and housewares. At least this is what I've seen at work(I'm a cashier).
